I've read so many of Jude Deveraux's books and have absolutely loved the stories. However, this one was just both too much and not enough. Due to her father's will, Morgan has to marry and move to the wild wild west for a year so she can receive her inheritance. After the fact, Nancy is in the ballroom and sees Giselle's missing shoe. Edward comes and asks if she could try it on for him. In a homage to Cinderella, Nancy puts the shoe on and it fits perfectly. Edward and Nancy leave New York together and head home to Andalasia.

You can tell a lot about the attitudes of a nation from its statues and memorials. As a nation with a long history we have erected statues, commemorating military leaders, with whom, for narrative convenience, we have associated a famous victory. The fates of the rank and file, without whose bravery and skill the commander’s tactical acumen would have come to naught, are rarely considered in memorials erected before the turn of the 20 th century.It is almost like the author had several good ideas for a story, but was under deadline so she just kind of mashed them together into a story. Except for the scenario just described, all scenarios work well in combination with the Cities & Knights expansion. The scenarios The Great Canal and The Enchanted Land were specifically created for the combination of Seafarers and Cities & Knights. Needless to say that in these two scenarios the focus is on the knights. A week out of time, in an abandoned Indian village near a river, surrounded by trees, isolated from all.
