My 10-stone loveable lump of a St Bernard, Pebbles, sheds enough hair to quilt the whole floor – daily. So, you can imagine my excitement at trying the Tangle-free Turbine tool. It works through a pair of counter-rotating heads that direct hair straight up into the vacuum, meaning you don’t suffer a loss of suction and can continue cleaning. The Tangle-free Turbine tool delivers just what it promises to, it gets right down to dead hair and strips it out. Once that’s done it’s easy to vacuum it up using the tool. After the first few seconds the tool did not at all bother my girl, Lucy. I have a 20-month-old rescue collie cross called Charlie but several weeks after he arrived, I discovered I had an allergy to him! With his moulting season fast approaching, I was thrilled to receive my Dyson Tangle-free Turbine tool.

My husband tried it on the stairs and it was so lightweight and easy to hold. The carpets upstairs were also a revelation – my son actually wanted to clean his room himself, as he can manage this vacuum, but he can’t really manage the big bulky one.

I have tried the tool several times and in all honestly its more hassle than it is worth, it’s not very easy to negotiate into corners or tight spots, where it might be of better use, it’s actually easier just to use the hose with the thin tool. It is not flexible enough either to be useful on furniture. I found it more of a nuisance than a help. Sue Thom

However after the first use of the Tangle-free Turbine tool, I was pleasantly surprised. Overall I have been very satisfied with this tool and its performance; the downside is its size. Ideally, I would like to see this brought out as the standard for the Dyson animal main brush bar! Wendy Hayward Personally, I couldn’t recommend it highly enough. I wouldn’t say white hairs have been totally eradicated but I suspect the only way of doing that is to shave the terrible trio. Now, where did I put those clippers? Dianne Maylam Next, to remove the hairs from the brush remove your finger from the button and bingo, but whilst this worked sometimes, more times than not, the hair stayed put and needed assistance to be vacuumed.

After using the Dyson Tangle-Free Turbine Tool though the floor was hair free! I found the loudness a comforting sign of how hard it was working. And work it did! The Tangle-free Turbine tool for Dyson was not as good as I would have expected, it was handy for getting into corners but using the vacuum upright is much more effective.
