However, I found that the Nano X1 Vegan shoes measured up extremely well in comparison to the Regin 3, and they’re ideal if you’re looking for a hard-working gym shoe that takes an ‘apprentice of all things and master of none’ approach. The grip is phenomenal, and a lightweight heel clip cradles your foot to provide extra stability during fast multi-directional movements.

If you want to prolong the durability of your shoe, then I’d highly suggest limiting their wear for training only and following these tips to increase your shoe’s lifespan. Reebok Nano X1 Vs Nike Metcon 7 Sizing In contrast the Nike Metcon 6 is heavier (but built like a tank) and it’s super versatile – thanks to the dual-density midsole and removable Hyperlifts – which let you choose 4mm or 12mm of drop. I like the flat laces. The tongue is slightly padded, which is a change from previous Nanos that Amanda doesn’t like, but it’s still skinny enough not to get in the way.

Reebok Nano X1 Versus Nike Metcon 6 Review – In Summary

The Reebok Nano X1’s Floatride Energy Foam midsole provides an overall similar feeling to the Nike Metcon 7’s in regard to its forefoot malleability. The main difference though is how the midsole in each model interacts with the outsole. The Reebok Nano X1’s mid-foot feels a bit more flat and the Metcon 7’s has an athletic-style fit with a bit more support. The outsole is a durable rubber with a uniform lug pattern of mulitdirectional grip. Most colorways have a contrasting colour design under the heel of the shoe painted on to look abit like you’ve stepped on wet paint. In the Nike Metcon 7, you should be safe going true-to-size, but do keep in mind that this model fits slim. If you have to size up because you have a wide foot, then you may run into some heel slip issues. During my workout, my feet had wiggle room but also felt stable during a heavy squat. As I've found to be typical of Reebok shoes, the toe area of the Nano X1s is fairly wide, so my toes were able to press down on the floor, allowing for better balance and grip on the ground. The toe is also slightly lifted from the ground; I found this really useful for any plank-based moves where my body is balancing on my toes.

Due to the nature of the training demands, there’s little outsole tread, making them less than ideal for running or training outdoors. The shoe is also noticeably much lighter (275g/ 9.7oz for a women’s UK Size 6) than previous iterations, which, if you’ve read my Nano X review, was pretty much my only complaint with the shoe. The reason all other Nano’s (and most training shoes) have a lower heel to toe drop is to enable to feet to feel the ground, and toes to grip for a the most powerful upward force possible to be generated when lifting.

Just like the Nano X1, this Vegan iteration is a fantastic all-round gym shoe that works for multiple kinds of workouts. Before I tried the amazing Under Armour TriBase Reign 3 shoes, I’d never had great experiences with cross-training shoes and generally preferred to wear workout-specific shoes, i.e., weightlifting shoes for when I hit the heavy metal, and runners for, er, running. This shoe is okay for lifting, and it works for a variety of activities. Since owning this model, I’ve trained up to 525 lbs in them, and their stability was okay. Were they as stable as something like the Reebok Nano X? The Reebok Nano X1 and Nike Metcon 7 are both interesting because they have a much more versatile feel compared to their predecessors. Each model now features a 7mm heel-to-toe drop which is up 3mm compared to the Reebok Nano X and Nike Metcon 6. It won’t be my go to training shoe, but I’ll keep it in mind for home workouts, over a session in the gym.

The Reebok Nano X1 Vegan features the same technology as the Nano X1 and retains all the key performance attributes you’d expect of this award-winning silhouette – it’s just that the materials used to make it have had a sustainable, 100% animal-free upgrade. Reebok has dropped the singular focus on CrossFit, and made a shoe with wider appeal in the process. If you want an all-round training shoe that offers support for every type of functional fitness workout and is sustainable to boot, you’ll love the Reebok Nano X1 Vegan. Just like the hugely popular Nano X1, it is responsive, fast, super-cushioned and lightweight and - save for a little reduction on breathability – its performance isn’t compromised by its use of plant-friendly materials. There’s no real performance differences in those special editions – other than looks. Nano X1 Versus Nike Metcon 6 AMP. Reebok Nano X1 Versus Nike Metcon 6 Review – In Summary Whether it's for a cardio routine, a boxing class or a weightlifting session, the Reebok Nano X1 will adapt to your needs. The British brand adds to its wide range a model as comfortable as it is lightweight, with which it aspires to become the global benchmark in fitness footwear, above other giants of the industry. Often considered the best gym shoes, they stand out for providing support and speed, two fundamental characteristics when performing any type of training. In addition, they have a padded reinforcement in the heel to provide stability in movements that require more precision. State-of-the-Art Materials
