I really liked the dual POV of the characters seeing how they both were grieving and the ways they handled it. When the death of a friend unexpectedly brings a couple as often at odds as they are in union, the sparks fly and the pages are turned as fast as I can go to keep up with the twists and turns and results of this perfectly matched couple through the ups and downs of ten years of living. The highlight of the book for me was the character of Becca, an aspiring but largely unsuccessful actor, who I loved. Charlie and Becca have a history and then are constantly being thrown together because of their mutual love of Ally who is terminally ill. Some days I feel like I’ve lived more than one lifetime, so, couldn’t we be right for each other this time around?

Unable to stand to be around each other for long enough to complete them all at once, Becca and Charlie plan to finish one list item a year until they’re complete.

Becca and Charlie had one thing in common: their love for Ally, their best friend and fiancée respectively.

Charlie and Becca hate each other but their love for Ally and Ally’s mother brings them together regularly over ten years to remember Ally. The storyline was not as predictable as I originally thought it would be and kept me guessing as to quite how things would work out between them.

The main plot of the book is unlike anything I’ve read before in a romance novel, and I thrived off the book’s brilliance.

Both Charlie and Becca are normal, flawed human beings that I had no trouble believing were real people and would act in the way being described.I have read some incredible works, but this story will give you one of the greatest book hangover you will ever come by. Becca and Charlie have always had two things in common: their general dislike of each other, and their love for Ally. There wasn’t a thing about it that I didn’t adore and it has definitely swayed my heart back to the rom-com corner after years of avoiding it and playing hard to get.
